Farewell

What happened to me? Everything happened unfortunately. I had planned on coming back but, than real life got in the way. Building sets, making sims, editing clips. It’s all tedious work with no real reward to me. I think Jaydee said it best and I quote “making a movie doesn’t take just a few nights, it’s just way too time consuming for a hobby”. She is completely right. Sadly I have only ever enjoyed the creating part of it and not the machinima hoopla that accompanied it. I didn’t become a real director, I’m not a producer, and I don’t work at Electronic Arts. While it’s nice to dream about those things it’s just not in everyone’s cards. I just wanted you to know that my husband and I are doing just fine. Please do not hang your hopes and dreams on ‘The Sims’ or machinima in general. Get out and enjoy other things in life that is worth so much more. Become a celebrated doctor, crime scene investigator, daring archaeologist, a orbiting astronaut. Anything you want just don’t limit yourself to the glitter of Hollywood. Don’t make a great movie, live one.

You Make Me

This was a total practice piece for me. I have never worked on a full back and forth voice over conversation before. I hope it turned out alright. I asked my hubby a million times if he thought the lips matched up but, what does he know? He doesn’t play or know how hard it is to lip-sync those sims. I guess you could call this my intro into talkies although I did small bit in “After The Night” and a narration in “SpellBound”. Whether I pulled it off today with clips from sounddogs.com is up to you. I also attempted to show that married couples not only grow old together but, they grow up together through tragedies and situations. Oh and I won’t mention I thought the voice clips I found were freakin’ hilarious so I just had to use them. LOL! ❤

I completely enjoyed setting up the photo shots for the two family album scenes and you really didn’t get to see those that much. So here they are. I call them simroids. *grin*

Why machinima.com will never get my newer movies.

It’s not because I think I’m better than they are. Back on October 9, 2007 I sent machinima.com a issue report asking them why they had removed their “delete” button from their site. I politely requested twice for them to remove all of my older videos so that I could post my newer and better ones. This was the response I got…

I waited, waited again, waited some more, and I’m still waiting today. Apparently philip.dumbass@machinima.com completely ignored me. Not to mention… it’s slap in the face every time I have receive messages on youtube from them asking me to let them “feature” my other sims2 movies. Acting like they never received any of my previous messages. So it’s been a few years. I sent them a nice note yesterday letting them know they will never get my new stuff as long as they continue to disregard my request for removal of my older films. My account and those sims2 movies were submitted before the new terms and updates therefore I did not grant them a “non-exclusive license” for those videos. For some reason my account says 2007 which is inaccurate. I have proof below.

This is where they get you. After you submit your films. They will not remove them no matter what. They tell you that in the red part right before the submit button.

Only problem is that was not there when I first joined that site. Before they switched hands, exchanged underwear, or whatever. There use to be a delete button and they use to respond back to people’s issues. They obviously do not care about the members who contribute and make that site what it is. They are only interested in using your talent for their site to get more hit counts. Wow, does that sound familiar? Lol. So… if you like having control over your old and newer projects displayed to the public. I would suggest staying away from machinima.com. I learned the hard way and I have blocked them from my youtube channel. I won’t even entertain the thought of them “showcasing” anything new of mine until they remove my old stuff. I’m not asking for the moon here. I just wanted some lethargic elitist moderator to put down the cheetos, tab out of WOW for two minutes and delete some videos. In return I would have uploaded my new ones for their youtube channel. Oh well… now you know. I’ll go back to organizing my collections folders. ^_^

Hiya folks!

So I’m trying to get back into the simming of things. I was a little pissed off that wordpress deleted my shooflee blog. I was unable to recover those sims that I created. I did manage to find all of my old movie character sims. I gotta see about getting those put up for download again. Anyway… There was about 200+ pose boxes of all languages released around the net. I got most of them I hope but, I think it would take a billion years to look through all of them. I picked up a few new nifty hacks and mods but, mostly shiny cluttery stuff. I was kind of sad to see some of my favorite places were gone but, I’m not surprised since it’s been a couple years and Sims (pause for yawn) 3 is out now. It looks like towards the end of 2009 was the year of defaults. So many awesome default replacements for things and I love that. I don’t particularly like having to download new clothes just fixed/replaced maxis ones so I’m a big fan of defaults. I’ve been surfing youtube for a couple weeks. I was looking for new sims machinima. When I say new I mean something that hasn’t been put out there yet. I did find a few great story tellers that are still at it but, everything is pretty much the same as before I left. That doesn’t mean anything other than a lot of people are gone. The good ones and the bad ones. Since that is the case. I don’t mind things being quieter now. I am more than willing to return to what I enjoy doing on my own despite whether or not anyone is around. I always liked getting my message across the net and touching people who didn’t even play the game. That was always the best part of it.

As for The Sims 3. I pretty much feel the same as everyone else who isn’t jumping on that wagon. I posted my feelings about it on my youtube page. I looked for Sims 3 machinima too but, sadly I only saw two nice movies and the rest were videos that were created by people who work for Electronic Arts so it’s like a four minute advertisement with a bunch of neat little tricks they haven’t released to the rest of us. You can easily tell who they are by the videos, profile, and the subscriptions. Example: SimmingWoman : Lots of nice Sims 3 machinima, only subbed to official EA pages. There you go. LOL!

Anyway… I have many things swirling my head. My downloads folder is already bursting and I’ve been building and creating characters. We’ll see what happens in the next few weeks.

After The Night

Yeah, I know I said I quit, blah. I had two computer crashes so I just gave up for awhile. There really isn’t a plot to this. It’s just me getting back into the game and trying my hand at a little voice over work for myself. I plan to do bigger roles in the future. Although it doesn’t seem to have a major story line. It is kind of a personal piece. Hopefully it won’t be too hard to understand.
